How verification works
A Delegate reports the passing and completes Persona identity verification. Other accepted Delegates receive a neutral notice and have 72 hours to respond. A death certificate must be uploaded within 30 days, by a Delegate or, if the Account Holder explicitly enabled them, by a Special Delegate who is a solicitor or notary. Only after verification is complete and the dispute window has closed are messages released.
What each Recipient receives
Recipients receive exactly what you addressed to them, and nothing else. No one sees the full picture. Messages can be text, voice, or video, with attachments where helpful.
Lifting the burden from families
Professionals play an important role alongside the rest of the app. If you choose, Y.O.D.O. can quietly contact the professionals and organisations you nominated as Special Delegates, such as your solicitor, notary, accountant, employer, funeral director, banker, or a befriending charity. Each receives a single neutral notice once a passing has been verified, so your family does not have to make those calls during the hardest week of their lives.
Designed for calm, not for compliance
Y.O.D.O. does not replace official services like the UK Tell Us Once service, and it does not notify banks or government bodies on your behalf. A banker, solicitor, or other professional can only be contacted if the Account Holder has added them as a Special Delegate. There are no scripted templates and no insurance branding. Each Recipient hears from you in your own words.
