EEA users
The bereavement support route described below is available to all Y.O.D.O. users worldwide on the same terms. EEA users who prefer to write in their own language are welcome to do so; we use professional translation where the matter is sensitive or complex. We will respond in English unless a specific language is mutually agreed.
If a Recipient or Guardian cannot complete our normal verification steps on time because of circumstances connected to the bereavement, please contact us at info@yodo.ltd and we will try to find a suitable alternative approach.
What we can flex on
- Extending the 12-month Recipient access window in exceptional cases.
- Accepting alternative evidence of identity where the standard options are not available to you.
- Pausing our normal deletion timelines while we work through a verification problem with you.
- Providing a human contact for Guardians of Minor Recipients who need help.
What we cannot flex on
- Our legal obligations under UK data protection law.
- Our fraud-prevention and safeguarding duties.
- Release of Messages before a Passing has been confirmed and verified through the Service.

Email info@yodo.ltd with the subject line "Bereavement support needed". We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days. For more serious or time-sensitive cases, say so in the subject line and we will treat it accordingly.
Important: Please do not send identity documents or death certificates by email. If documents are needed, we will direct you to the secure in-app flow.
