Check-ins
Supporting communication in moments of silence.
Choose your schedule
Pick a check-in rhythm that fits your life:
- Monthly check-ins by default on all plans
- Premium and Supreme can switch to daily, weekly, or fortnightly
- Change your schedule anytime from your account settings
Your check-in day and time are completely up to you.
How check-ins work
When a check-in is due:
- You receive an email at your scheduled check-in time
- Log in and tap the check-in button to confirm
- You have 8 hours to confirm (the Response Window)
- If you confirm, nothing else happens. Your Delegates are not contacted
- If you do not confirm, reminders are sent before escalation begins
Check-ins are designed to be quick and unobtrusive.
Escalation buffer
You control when Delegates are contacted:
- Choose your escalation buffer: 8, 16, 24, or 48 hours from your scheduled check-in time
- Escalation is enabled while your plan is active
- You choose escalation mode: Staged or All at once
- We do not contact Delegates before the end of the Response Window
- Reminders are sent during the buffer period
Caution: If you choose an 8-hour buffer, Delegates may be contacted at the same time as your first reminder.
Delegates can act anytime
Your Delegates are not limited to waiting for a missed check-in:
- Delegates can Raise a Concern at any time if they are worried about you
- In multi-Delegate accounts, this alerts other Delegates so they can coordinate
- During an open Status Check, we normally send daily reminders to you to log in and respond
- Delegates who were notified may receive follow-up updates when action is no longer needed
- A Concern prompts you to respond via a check-in
- Delegates can also request a Care Pause if you are temporarily unavailable
Quick check-ins stop active escalation or deletion clocks but do not reset the scheduled timer. Your next Scheduled Check-in will still occur at the usual time.
